Question by Newell: Can you think a better alternative to a .25 automatic in my sock?
I am divorced. Alimony. Child support. Dad died. I got enough to buy a small house in a high crime neighborhood in Los Angeles. Now I don’t pay rent. One less expense. I need to save for my little daughter’s Sweet Sixteen, Car, College and Wedding.
Bought a dog. The only mean dog Allstate Insurance permits is a German Shepherd. Got one at the pound. Messed up. Got “Shiloh” Shepherd. Special bred of German Shepherd. Dog is big, but cowardly. 135 of cowardice. Cannot/will not protect me.
I cannot fight. I am extremely small and skinny for a man. Anyone can whip my butt. I cannot run. I have knee injury. I walk for hour and a half/two hours to exercise. So I am small, skinny, injured, and gay, in a high crime neighborhood, and my dog cannot protect me.
Currently, I stick a .25 automatic in my right sock for protection. I have one foot smaller than the other foot, and on that foot I wear two pair of socks. When I stick the .25 auto in the sock, the two tube socks hold the gun perfectly. I stick an extra clip in the other sock.
I have to hide my gun, because they don’t issue gun permits in Los Angeles City or Los Angeles County. I figure Los Angeles Police will not stop/frisk a small white lguy in his early thirties who is walking his dog who is well groomed and wearing a nice track suit and new sneakers. I am not that far from Silver Lake, a gay center of Los Angeles, and I figure they will just say “Oh, another f__ out exercising.”
Can anyone think of a better alternative for protection than what I am doing?
Please note: It’s in my sock because I don’t think a cop will notice it there. If I get a bigger gun he will NOTICE it. If you tell me I need a bigger gun, I will simply assume you are dyslexic.
Please note: Civilian possession of an Ankle Holster is a crime in California.

I’m not sure why you’re hung up on the legalities. You’re already breaking the law, so you should at least do so somewhat safely.
Look up Thunderwear, IMO, the best deep concealment holster available.
Also, perhaps look into the Kel-Tec P3AT. Smaller and lighter than most .25s, and if you can get it, I would sure trust a .380 more than a .25.
